What is the bujinkan?

The Bujinkan is an international martial arts organization headed by Masaaki Hatsumi Soke in Chiba prefecture in japan.  The Bujinkan consists of nine schools, or ryu-ha.  The schools are associated with ninjutsu as well as samurai arts used for battle and personal defense.  The various skills studied include joint locks, chokes, throws, strikes, kicks, as well as weapon use.
